He had a new bow and a nice Elven dagger to accompany his two swords. He got that set of bronze armour he had spent a fortune on- it was Dwarven- and he knew it would be worth every cent. Whistling, he stumbled into an abandoned building, one he did not know of. One that he should of stayed away from. He immediately stopped when he realized it was empty, seemingly abandoned by being magical and non-magical. It appeared to be a lab. He had heard of this place and that it was shut down after the Slyverant outlaws experimentation on animals. He decided to poke around, hoping that something of value was left behind. This of course was rare. He saw many decaying papers most of them notes laying on the ground. Nothing that he appeared to be interested in, mostly the results of failed and dangerous experiments. Slyverant was smart to shut this place down. He heard something fall in the room and drew his bow and frantically put an arrow in the quiver. W-who's there? Come out or I will shoot! he called.

"Calm. It's only me."
Arich had recently finished his browsing and sought out Yoshiamito. When he'd returned to the inn, his traveling companion had gone.
Eventually he'd ended up here, partially by chance and partially by intuition. He'd been with the elf since he was just an angry-faced child, orphaned by disaster.
The lab was old and musty, but nothing caught his attention. It had clearly been closed down. Curiously he picked up one of the partially crumpled papers and absently skimmed over the illegible runes. The written word had never clicked in his mind.
He turned back to the elf. "Have you found anything?" he asked. The place did look like it had been gutted already, but still...

Papers, papers papers and papers and wait a moment- he picked up a little alchemy tube thing. He literally did not understand how that stuff worked and he left it to Warlocks and such to brew potions not him. I found something. I guess if I keep digging through these papers I could find a few things of value. Alex like my bow? He returned the weapon to his back, embarrassed that he nearly had shot his friend. Arich had rescued him from a burning village when he was five, that was twelve years ago. The two had been traveling together ever since.

"Do the papers have anything significant written on them? And that tube might be valuable. Perhaps we can find an alchemist to look at it."
He continued leafing through the papers. There were a few diagrams on some, but they didn't seem too important. "What kind of experiments did they do here?"
He glanced up to look at the new weapon.
"It's a good bow," he added. "This city has many excellent products. I'm glad we came."

The papers are failed experiments on animals. he said with disgust. He was glad Slyverant decided to put those laws in place. He was trying to understand what these scientist were trying to accomplish. For non-magic being, humans sure are good at making things. Nothing of importance was easily seen for now.

"Was there a purpose?" he asked, puzzled. "What were they attempting to do here?"
The entire nature of experimentation was confusing to him. Unicorns did not care to advance in technology and certain types of knowledge. Philosophy, perhaps, but never science.
"They're very... ingenuitive," he commented. "When is the last time any of either of our kinds created the things they do? Then again, I suppose neither of us have ever had a great need for great metal birds or stoves or... alchemy."

No they really didn't need technology to advance. Not a fan of bloody spears myself. Those aren't good for horses or unicorns. He thought the majority of the technology was helpful, but otherwise it was pointless. As for the experimentation, it was to understand how magical animals and such work. It was the humans trying to bridge the gap between us and them. He hoped that sufficed as an explanation.

"Spears aren't the most desirable of weapons," he agreed.
Arich looked blankly at his friend and shook his head. He had no clue what the elf was talking about.
"You can't bridge the gap. It's impossible. Humans are incredible inventors, but at times they can be unrealistic." He straightened his back and yawned. "Anything else around here?"

We could poke around the storage rooms. I imagine they have been locked but I could blast them open with some magic. One of the light magic spells he knew allowed him to bypass doors, which was rather useful as a explorer.
The humans are always trying to make themselves better, they are easily the most ambitious race. Something I have always found interesting.

"In a way it makes them much more adaptable than any of us. Excepting maybe fae."
He didn't like the fae. Most of his kind didn't. They were too frivolous and lived in the moment, tricking people and causing trouble for entertainment.
Elves were an exception, if they could even be called part of the same family.
"Yes, let's explore," he agreed. "I'd like to see if they found anything out."

[b[Great let' go.[/b] he ginned. The first door came before them. Opono. he said calmly and a bright flash of light, followed by the door cracking open. What could be inside? Various skill, bones, and organs. Plenty of alchemy ingredients. This had to be worth a small fortune. He looked around. Jewels probably from a dragon's lair. Just plenty of treasures were here. Wow. he said, taken aback.

Arich blinked. "That's a lot. Are we sure it doesn't belong to somebody else?" He wasn't too keen on taking strange treasure, especially when it was lying in an abandoned place like this. "Perhaps someone is keeping it here?"
He paused and sniffed.
"That's dragon gold for sure. I don't think it's cursed, but it's hard to tell with these kinds of things. It will reek of little but dragon for years."

He was now kinda wanting to take some of this. This place has been abandoned and by the looks of the door it hasn't been used in a while. I think the Dragon's Treasure could fetch a nice buck. I can lock up the room and we could poke around later. he said. He did agree with Arich that they should exercise caution. However, it you believe it is a bad idea my friend then we shall not do it.
